People with heart conditions are often warned by medical professionals about drinking coffee.


The study - which tracked more than 400,000 people from the UK in 10 years - was conducted mainly to determine if it was safe for them to continue.

"We have found that those with heart disease have a chance to survive if they continue to drink coffee."


Researchers find that, in most cases, our hearts benefit from drinking 1 to 5 cups of coffee a day. Two to three cups a day brings consistent benefits and good results drop by 5 or more cups a day.
